Do you want to break the cycle of yo-yo dieting and find peace with food at last? Do you want to enjoy food again, but still be slim?
I am a registered nurse with over 20 years experience, a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. I am a huge fan of the NHS and worked proudly for it for over 15 years. I also struggled with my own weight for years and ate compulsively to cope with stress. After years of yo-yo dieting, I found a way of eating that is flexible enough to cope with real life, full of tasty food (nothing is banned), but keeps me at a weight I am happy with. I have also found better ways to deal with my stress and now I want to share my knowledge with other women, so that that they can get on with living their lives too.
Even as a child, I hated my body and was scared about looking “fat”. I had a coat when I was about 5 that I wouldn’t wear, because the zip bulged outwards and I thought it made me look fat. I think there were a combination of reasons why I felt that way as a small child, but things didn’t get better as I got older.
I started restricting what I ate as a young teenager, and ended up yo-yo dieting and bingeing for much of my adult life. It was my only coping mechanism for stress and I was trying to live up to an idealised image in my head of what a woman should look like. At 5’2″ I am never going to look like a supermodel though (and I now know that is ok).
Eventually I realised that I had to stop yo-yo dieting, that there must be another way and I was going to find it. I decided to put myself first and give my body what it needed to heal itself for the long-term. This was the start to better overall health, and I also discovered the power of coaching and had some great help from people along the way to make these positive changes. Two heads really are better than one!
I have worked on healing many aspects of my life including: what I eat, how I sleep, how I manage stress and how I take care of myself, so that I can continue to do what I love and take care of others. All the steps I have taken have been small changes that built on one another. It has worked and I eat healthily the majority of the time now because I want to, but nothing is banned. I have lost weight and kept it off for several years now, and I am finally able to enjoy my life.
I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, to not know where to start when it comes to getting yourself well and feeling like it’s your fault.
But you don’t have to go through it alone, If you are fed up with being overweight, yo-yo dieting and overeating, and you are ready to make some small changes to your life with a big impact, then book your free Coaching Taster Session below (it’s an informal introductory chat to see if coaching might suit you).
I am so excited to share the power of coaching with others and seeing how small changes transform their lives.
